The world's first conference

This Saturday, we are holding the world's first ever conference to explore the proposal for a worldwide basic income. We are delighted that twelve excellent speakers and around 120 guests will be packing out our small venue in Salford.

We will be hearing perspectives on inequality, poverty and migration, and about existing basic income movements around the world.

Others will explore the practicalities of raising money globally through natural and collective resources, and the challenges involved in distributing a basic income in remote areas. Footage from Eight's brand new pilot project, just launched in a Ugandan village, will give us a chance to see basic income in action.

Finally, policy experts from progressive political parties and NGOs will share experiences of movement-building, enabling us to learn how we might take the world basic income proposal forward.
